  • Gum Grafts

A thin piece of tissue is taken from under the “skin” of the roof of the mouth. You may have a stitch or two in the roof of your mouth, but, the roof of your mouth is not “exposed or raw” as with past techniques for grafting. This new technique greatly diminishes post operative discomfort. The stable band of attached tissue is placed around the tooth in such a way as to cover the exposed portion of the root and to establish tough tissue for longevity of the tooth.

  • Frenectomy

The Advanced Institute for Oral Health uses a state of the art laser for this procedure. It does not require any sutures, typically lasts under 5 minutes and causes very little to no discomfort. No sedation is required for a frenectomy.

  • Bone Grafting

Over a period of time, the jawbone associated with gum disease, as well as missing teeth, dissolves or is reabsorbed. This often leaves a condition in which there is poor quality and quantity of bone. In some situations we now have the ability to grow bone where it has been lost around teeth. It also gives us a chance to more effectively restore esthetic appearance and functionality. New biologically active gels and growth factors help stimulate and enhance bone growth so that we can help your body re-grow bone that is lost. That has helped us save certain teeth that would otherwise have been lost.

  • Sinus Lift Procedure

Our periodontists enter the sinus from where the upper teeth used to be. The sinus membrane is then lifted upward and materials and bioactive gels are inserted into the floor of the sinus (which is the roof of the upper jaw) to help stimulate your body to grow new bone. After several months of healing, the body replaces the material with new bone and it becomes part of the patient’s jaw and dental implants can be inserted and stabilized in this new sinus bone. If enough bone between the upper jaw ridge and the bottom of the sinus is available to stabilize the implant well, sinus augmentations and implant placement can sometimes be performed as a single procedure. If not enough bone is available, the sinus augmentation is performed first. Once the graft has matured, the implants can be placed.

  • Ridge Augmentation

Ridge augmentation is reconstruction of the bone and soft tissue to allow new teeth to be properly positioned for function and aesthetics.
